Repairs and Restoration

Services include:

  • Structural crack repairs

  • Head and neck reattachment

  • Bill repairs and replacement

  • Tail and keel repairs

  • Weight and hardware replacement

  • Paint stabilization and touch-up

  • Repainting

Pricing

  • $200 minimum restoration charge (includes the first hour of labor)

  • $100 per hour after the first hour, billed in 15-minute increments

Estimates

Because every decoy is unique, exact pricing cannot be determined until the decoy has been inspected.

After evaluating your decoy, I will provide an estimated labor range before beginning work.

If additional hidden damage is discovered during restoration that would significantly increase the cost, I will contact you before proceeding.

Shipping

Customers are responsible for shipping the decoy to my shop.

Return shipping within the continental United States is included with every restoration.

Each return shipment includes $100 of insurance. Additional insurance may be purchased at the customer’s request and will be added to the final invoice.

Please package your decoy carefully.

Customer Property and Insurance

Every decoy is photographed upon arrival to document its condition before restoration begins.

Customers are encouraged to provide an estimated value for insurance purposes.

All customer decoys are covered by my business insurance while they are in my care, custody, and control at my workshop.

Coverage begins once your shipment has been received and inspected at my shop and remains in effect until the decoy is securely packaged and delivered to the shipping carrier for its return shipment.

Customers are responsible for insuring their decoys during transit to my shop. Likewise, once the return shipment has been accepted by the carrier, responsibility transfers to the carrier and the shipment insurance purchased for that shipment.

Each return shipment includes $100 of insurance at no additional charge. Additional shipping insurance is available upon request and will be added to the final invoice.

Turnaround Time

Restoration work is completed in the order it is received.

Most projects are completed within several weeks, although complex restorations may require additional time.

If your project has a specific deadline, please let me know before shipping your decoy.

Payment

Payment is due upon completion of the restoration and prior to return shipment.

Accepted payment methods are cash or check.  PayPal or Venmo are also accepted with a 3% fee.
